MIATA Progress

• The MIATA project was first announced in Immunity in 2009.

• Under the leadership of the MIATA core team the project went through an intense vetting process that included 2 public consultation periods and 2 public workshops with more than 100 peers from different fields of immunology applying immune monitoring, and from different settings, like academia, biotechnology, biopharma and regulatory agencies (link to contributors).

•  The process of maturing the guidelines to a consensus document has been described in a publication in Cancer Immunology, Immunotherapy.

•  The final MIATA guidelines were published in Immunity in 2012.

•  In follow-up, various journals have now endorsed the optional implementation of MIATA.

•  The journal OncoImmunology published a MIATA Editorial later in 2012.

•  Cancer Immunity published a MIATA Correspondence in 2013.

• The Journal of Immunological Methods published a Letter to the Editor about MIATA in 2014.

The core team is communicating with other relevant journals about the MIATA implementation.
